I started my position with Sports Facilities Management & Recreation Services in April 2001 after moving to Indiana from Michigan. I hail from Springfield, MA ("the real birth-place" of basketball) and have a BA and MED from Springfield College , though those degrees are 12 years apart! I have coached over 13 different Varsity Sports, including Rugby, Netball, Cricket and lacrosse and played a little Olympic Field Hockey.

I live in Knightstown with husband Jim Kayajan (met in grad school) and our 14 year old son Jared, along with the family beast, an Old English sheepdog, named Maximillian.

Prior to coming to BSU, I dabbled in "home custom design window treatment" business while being home full time. (After 18 years experience as an Athletic Director, Coach, Athletic Trainer and dorm parent, it was time to "relax and recover" and raise our own family.)

The greatest strength of SPFAC REC is the "fantastic departmental members" that oversees the entire program and all the facilities! Each day is a new flavor: vibrant, active and very busy. It is very rewarding being part of a department that is fully focused, patron driven and an integral part of every day living for everyone. I am totally "rec'd" on our program and consider my career shift to Sports Facilities Management and Recreation Services, the smartest decision. Perhaps I should've made the switch years ago! A day without SPFAC REC is a day without Sunshine!
